It's Almost Spring

It's almost spring in just a few days, I'm so ready. It's a time of renewal, time to start fresh and begin again. The earth begins to come back to life and we can do the same. As we shed the layers of clothing as the weather gets warmer, we can shed layers of ourselves as well.

We've had all winter to settle down and get cozy, but now is time for us to spring back to life as well. It's time to spring clean our homes, our minds and bodies. A time to make changes with how we eat and think and what we want to do with our lives. It's a time to renew yourself, to let yourself become who you were meant to be.

You've had all winter to think about what you want to do and how you want to live the rest of this year, now is the time to start to put all those thoughts into action. Go through your home and get rid of all the things that are weighing you down, things you no longer love or need. Give it a good cleaning, wash the windows and make everything sparkle.

Look at your clothes, get rid of whatever doesn't fit or doesn't fit with the person you want to be or how you wish to see yourself. Only keep the things that make you feel good about you, if it doesn't then why would you want to keep it?

Maybe it's time to change how you eat, take a look at what you've been putting into your body and ask yourself if this is the best thing for you? Does it nourish your body and your spirit? Just something to think about. I have noticed that what I eat and drink has a huge impact on how I feel. After making some changes recently I have more energy and it definitely improved my mood.

For me this year spring is a time to take better care of me. I'm working on making me better so I have more to give to my family and to the world.

This is what I've been working on this week, letting go of things that I don't want or don't contribute to my life in some way. It's such a wonderful feeling to lighten up in that way. The house feels lighter and brighter and so do I. It took a little time to get going but I'm so glad I did, and it's a work in progress, there's still lots to do. It's all part of discovering who you are and what's important in your life, keep what is and let go of the rest, it only holds you back.

I hope you all have a wonderful week filled with love and beauty. Much love C. <3

Welcome To A New Week

Happy Monday! Welcome to a new week. It's sunny and warm here, temps around 70 degrees. A perfect day to get outside and soak up a little sunshine, something I'm in need of after this long winter. I'm starting to see the first signs of spring, daffodils and crocus are starting to bloom and I can see the beginning of leaves starting to come out on the rosebushes. Spring is much welcomed this year, even more than usual I think.

So today I spent a little time outside cleaning off our front porch after it being neglected all winter. My swing is clean and ready for me to spend the warm days sitting there enjoying the birds and the flowers, reading and writing and sipping iced tea. It may be a couple more weeks before it's warm to stay, but it will be ready and waiting for me when it does.

Hope your week is a beautiful one, enjoy!

What Inspires Me

What is it that inspires me? What excites me and gets me motivated to do something? I took a little time to think about that and  I realized art is the thing that inspires me most. I love art in all it's forms but I especially love paintings and sculptures. I love to paint so I enjoy looking at the work of other artists, it's fun to see the creations that people come up with. The colors, the textures, the use of unusual materials that I would have never thought of.
                                                            Helen Frankenthaler

There are the very well known like Picasso or Van Gogh or those more recent like Frankenthaler and many others that create brilliant works of art today. All unique and beautiful in their own way. They all give me inspiration and ideas for my own creations.

Starry Night- Vincent Van Gogh

I love sculptures as well, it amazes me to see a lump of clay transformed into a gorgeous work of art. This is something I would love to do, to create something beautiful out of nothing.

                                                             Tamara Bonet Sculpture

I could spend hours online looking at all the creations these incredibly talented people come up with.
                                                      Sunflower in red- Justin Gaffery

Nature is a great inspiration for art as well. I just take a walk outside and see so many things I want to paint.

Glacier National Park

These are the things that inspire me, that motivate to create art, even if nobody sees it outside my home. It's the creating that's invigorating, actually taking a blank canvas and turning it into a work of art, something to liven up a wall. To make a house feel like home, to make it feel like me. It's much more personal when you fill it with things you created yourself. You're putting a part of yourself up on the wall as well.

I hope your day is filled with beauty and that you discover what truly inspires you.

Much Love, C. <3

Beautiful Doors

I love beautiful old doors. The detail is amazing.

They're almost magical, you just wonder what wonderful things are waiting behind them.

I can't imagine how much hard work and planning went into these works of art.

Some look like they're right out of a fairy tale castle

Some are a bright cheery welcome home

I wonder what adventure awaits

Much Love <3
