Welcome To A New Week

Happy Monday! Welcome to a new week. It's sunny and warm here, temps around 70 degrees. A perfect day to get outside and soak up a little sunshine, something I'm in need of after this long winter. I'm starting to see the first signs of spring, daffodils and crocus are starting to bloom and I can see the beginning of leaves starting to come out on the rosebushes. Spring is much welcomed this year, even more than usual I think.

So today I spent a little time outside cleaning off our front porch after it being neglected all winter. My swing is clean and ready for me to spend the warm days sitting there enjoying the birds and the flowers, reading and writing and sipping iced tea. It may be a couple more weeks before it's warm to stay, but it will be ready and waiting for me when it does.

Hope your week is a beautiful one, enjoy!

What Inspires Me

What is it that inspires me? What excites me and gets me motivated to do something? I took a little time to think about that and  I realized art is the thing that inspires me most. I love art in all it's forms but I especially love paintings and sculptures. I love to paint so I enjoy looking at the work of other artists, it's fun to see the creations that people come up with. The colors, the textures, the use of unusual materials that I would have never thought of.
                                                            Helen Frankenthaler

There are the very well known like Picasso or Van Gogh or those more recent like Frankenthaler and many others that create brilliant works of art today. All unique and beautiful in their own way. They all give me inspiration and ideas for my own creations.

Starry Night- Vincent Van Gogh

I love sculptures as well, it amazes me to see a lump of clay transformed into a gorgeous work of art. This is something I would love to do, to create something beautiful out of nothing.

                                                             Tamara Bonet Sculpture

I could spend hours online looking at all the creations these incredibly talented people come up with.
                                                      Sunflower in red- Justin Gaffery

Nature is a great inspiration for art as well. I just take a walk outside and see so many things I want to paint.

Glacier National Park

These are the things that inspire me, that motivate to create art, even if nobody sees it outside my home. It's the creating that's invigorating, actually taking a blank canvas and turning it into a work of art, something to liven up a wall. To make a house feel like home, to make it feel like me. It's much more personal when you fill it with things you created yourself. You're putting a part of yourself up on the wall as well.

I hope your day is filled with beauty and that you discover what truly inspires you.

Beautiful Doors

I love beautiful old doors. The detail is amazing.

They're almost magical, you just wonder what wonderful things are waiting behind them.

I can't imagine how much hard work and planning went into these works of art.

Some look like they're right out of a fairy tale castle

Some are a bright cheery welcome home

I wonder what adventure awaits

Me

Today I thought I,d tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Cindy, I've been married to my sweetheart for 28 years and we have one grown son and one fur baby. We live in a rural area but I've always wanted to live in a big city which is why I frequently share pictures of city life. I love all things beautiful. I love artwork, paintings, sculptures, photography, you name it. I love great architecture, a beautifully decorated room, fashion and delicious food, as well as all of nature, that provides us so many wonderful things to enjoy.

I love beautiful words as well. Be it poetry, a good story that makes me feel good or just words of inspiration that make my day. I love to share all the lovely things I find with you and hopefully it brightens your day. Sometimes a cheerful word or a gorgeous picture can make all the difference. That is my desire, to share with you things to make your life a little happier or cheerier or inspire you in some way. I hope you enjoy.

Time Flies

I can't believe we're in the middle of February already, the year is flying by. I've been busy this year which is one of the reasons I haven't posted since the first of the year. It's cold and snowy here now, but soon spring will be here. I'm so ready. I'm tired of cold weather and more than ready to embrace the warmth of spring.

Spring is a time of renewal, a time for new beginnings. I always await the first signs of new life each year, the first flowers to pop through the ground, the first leaves on the trees, the grass starting to turn green after the brown of a long, cold winter. The birds singing in the trees, the butterflies returning and finally being warm enough to sit outside.

I'm ready to embrace the new beginnings, in nature and in myself. For now I wait patiently as the snow melts.

Much love,  <3

Happy New Year!

It's the first day of the new year and we're off to a warm sunny start here, temps around 50 degrees. A bit above normal but I'll take it, I love the warmer days. It's January so I'm sure this won't last long but I'm going to enjoy it while it's here. It's nice to spend a little time outside and not freeze. This is something I'd like to do more of this year, spend time outside. I feel I've allowed myself to get into the habit of staying inside even if it's nice out, spending too much time on the computer just killing time instead of doing something fun.

What about you? Do you have anything you'd like to change this year? Anything you'd like to do that you've been putting off? I'd love to here from you.

Here's to your happy, healthy, fun and prosperous new year!
